The Families

Flinders Ranges Premium Grain Pty Ltd, (FRPG Pty Ltd) is a private company comprising seven families, six of whom are engaged in farming. As 4th and 5th generation farming families, we have been growing cereals, principally wheat, since European settlement in the Southern Flinders Ranges region of South Australia. FRPG Pty Ltd was incorporated on November 29th 2004 (between 2001 and 2004 we operated in a partnership arrangement).

Our farms are centred around the little township of Orroroo, where the wheat grows during the mild winters then matures and is harvested during the long hot summers. Although the climate is generally dry, the wheat is not irrigated, growing on the limited rainfall which falls during the winter growing season.

Each farm is owned by the families who operate them, and we take immense pride in our farming techniques. We are all aiming to leave the future generations with land in a better and more sustainable condition than what we inherited it in.
